Pension Advocacy

Legacy has expertise in understanding the individual situations and entitlements of the partners and dependent children of deceased members of the Australian Defence Force. Through a network of experienced Pension officers, Coffs Coast Legacy can assist eligible families to access their entitlements including;

Military Compensation – claims for War Widows pensions and dependent benefits under the Veterans Entitlement Act 1986, Military Rehabilitation & Compensation Act 2004 and the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988.
Commemoration – entitlements to war graves through the Office of Australian War Graves. Assistance with claiming campaign and long service medals from the Department of Defence
Income Support – claims for income support through DVA and Centrelink
Associated Benefits – accessing benefits provided to eligible persons through DVA and Centrelink

If initial claims are unsuccessful but have merit, Legacy will assist applicants to appeal to the appropriate bodies.

These services are provided at no cost to Legacy widow.
