About Legacy on Victoria
Situated in a beautiful Coffs Harbour, Legacy on Victoria is a home where we give care to our beloved residents. We are 49 bed High Care Residential Aged Care Home operated by Coffs Coast Legacy since 1974.
Legacy cares for dependants of those who serves their country; namely, veterans who gave their lives or health on operational service of subsequently, and Australian Defence Force members who die in service, affords a field for service. Legacy on Victoria also accepts veterans, families of veteran, and the general community.

At our non-profit nursing home, we offer compassionate care for residents with complex healthcare needs, including dementia and palliative care, ensuring they feel valued and supported.

What is an ACAT assessment?
An ACAT assessment (Aged Care Assessment Team) is a free assessment organised through My Aged Care.
A healthcare professional will talk with you about your health, mobility, and daily living needs to determine what level of support is suitable for you.
The assessment helps decide whether you are eligible for:
- Residential aged care (nursing home care)
- Home care services
- Respite care
- Other government-funded aged care services
Most assessments are completed in your home, hospital or current place of residence.

What financial costs should I consider?
The cost of residential aged care varies from person to person and depends on your income and assets.
You may be asked to pay some or all of the following:
- Basic Daily Fee – contributes towards meals, cleaning, laundry, and everyday services.
- Accommodation Payment – the cost of your room and accommodation.
- Means Tested Care Fee – an additional contribution based on your financial circumstances.
Many residents receive Australian Government assistance to help with these costs.
A financial assessment through Services Australia or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) helps determine what fees apply to you.
